Duck Race
The much-loved Reading Duck Race is back at The Oracle on 19 September, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Reading Abbey 🦆
The fun kicks off from 10am in The Oracle pedestrian area, with face painting and the chance to rent your duck before the big race. Then, at 4.30pm, it’s time to find your spot and cheer them on as hundreds of ducks take to the Kennet and Avon Canal, racing from Bridge Street to Queen's Car Park. With £250 for the first-place duck plus more prizes donated by shops in The Oracle, you’ll want to make sure yours is in the running! 🏆
Ready to back a duck? Ducks can be rented online ahead of the event, from the Rotary Club stall at The Oracle on the two weekends before the race, or on race day itself. Ducks rented online will be randomly assigned, while ducks rented from the stalls can be chosen in person.
And the fun doesn’t stop at the finish line. From 4.45pm to 7.30pm, head to the turf area on the opposite side of The Riverside, opposite Nando's, for the FREE Duck Disco 🎶🦆 Stick around after the race and keep the riverside atmosphere going.
All proceeds from the Duck Race will be donated to charities selected by the Rotary Club of Reading Abbey, so every duck rented helps support a good cause.
The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Reading Abbey Trust Fund, Registered Charity 900389.
