Summer Skincare
Get glowing skin this summer...
Summer is finally here, which means it’s time to bare a little skin in shorts and sundresses. If you’re heading for the sunshine, here are our top skincare tips to help reverse any signs of winter neglect.

Exfoliate
It's very important to exfoliate your skin - your body sheds skin cells every day, and if you don't get rid of them they make your skin look dull and dry. Massage an exfoliating scrub in circular movements over your body in the shower and rinse clean - try Crabtree and Evelyn’s Cocoa Butter, Nutmeg and Cardamom Body Scrub, £16, for delicious-smelling, baby soft skin.
Hydrate
Nothing says summer more than a fruity body lotion – try The Body Shop’s Mango Body Butter, £10. Apply it straight after your shower to seal in moisture for a bikini-ready body. For faces, The Body Shop’s Vitamin C Daily Moisturiser, £10, is light enough to use every day and contains added SPF. Don’t forget your hands and feet either – L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Cream, £16.50, is perfect for smooth, soft skin.
Get a Safe Summer Glow
We all know that using sun beds is a skincare no-no – instead opt for a safe fake tan to start your summer look. Fake Bake’s Instant Tan, £26 from House of Fraser, gives an immediate glow to help you fake it in style.
Out With the Old
If you’re headed for the sun, swap last year's suncream for a new bottle. The protection offered by old suncreams lessens over time, so be safe and pick up a new one – and make sure you use it! Boots has introduced its new Soltan Once range, from £13.29, which offers six hours of sun protection with just one application – perfect for a spot of safe sunbathing.
Treat Yourself
If you’re still unsure which summer product is right for you, head for Lush at The Oracle to snap up the limited edition All Inclusive Package for just £10, with six products guaranteed to get you looking good. Containing sunscreen, a body mask, skin conditioner, foot scrub, foot lotion and a sauna tab, this exclusive product contains everything you need for a beach-ready body.
Beach Beauty
When you’re finally ready to hit the beach, don’t forget to pick up some waterproof makeup to help your style stay put through a day of swimming and sunbathing, These Clarins waterproof eye pencils are available for £14 from Debenhams, and with four vibrant shades to choose from they’re sure to match any summer outfit.
